I'm a Los Angeles-based, Oberlin Conservatory-educated composer-producer with a very eclectic musical background. From minimalism through electronica to edgy rock, I use my wide experience to my clients' creative advantage.
An indie feature I scored, "The Mix", recently won Best Comedy at New York's Chain NYC Film Festival. It had its World Premiere at The Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival on 2/26/16 @ Laemmle Music Hall. What a blast!
For the past several years, I have been very active in music for corporate event films. 2015-16 clients include Autodesk, Cisco Systems & Charles Schwab. March 2016 saw a piano performance along with a piece for electric string quartet, percussion and track for a Cisco event film live at the San Diego Convention Center. August 2016 at the MGM Grand Arena, 18,000 people watched a Cisco event film I scored.
Seth McFarlane's "Ted 2" (June 2015) features "One Foot in Front of the Other", a song I wrote & sang which was originally featured in the cult-classic "Revenge of the Nerds".
Here's my IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0929025/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 (Of course, IMDB does not list my corporate work.)
I've made records for Warner Bros. and Capitol Records. Bette Midler, James Brown and Grace Jones have recorded my songs, to mention a few; Warner-Chappell, Quincy Jones and Emerald Forest Entertainment publish over two hundred of them.
A brief period of study with legendary composer Steve Reich profoundly changed my life.
Other film scoring credits include four of director Martha Coolidge’s movies, including cult hit “Valley Girl", and Paramount feature, “Plain Clothes". Songs have appeared in pics like “Beverly Hills Cop II” and TV shows including "Family Guy".
With former Acme Music Works partner Todd Yvega, I scored well over 100 TV episodes, including Paramount’s Emmy-nominated “Duckman” and two Disney shows, the #1-rated "ABC's One Saturday Morning" and "One, Too!"
Past Japanese clients include Japan Rail, Kirin Beer and NTT, for which I scored a TV spot that won both an International Clio Award and the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Festival.
Other projects include an animation music library for production music powerhouse, Megatrax.
I'm lucky to have toured the world as musical director / keyboard player for Charlie Sexton, appearing on MTV New Year's Eve and live TV shows in Japan, France and the U.K.
